Feature overview
Goals
The aim of the Account Lifecycle feature is to provide a flow of statuses that describe the different stages of an Account’s lifespan in CMP.
Functionality of the feature
Accounts managed in the CMP follow an Account specific resource lifecycle. Each Account can be transferred between different statuses throughout its lifecycle in CMP. The below table describes the various statuses of the Account Lifecycle.
Status | Description | Transition to |
---|---|---|
DRAFT | All Accounts are saved as DRAFT after initial creation. Only the minimum number of required fields are needed to save the Account. Network and Product Resources (Entitlements) cannot be added to the account in this status. | LEAD |
LEAD | An Account in LEAD status indicates that the Company has provided a clear intention for the usage of the Account. Administrators may begin to select or design the specific resources that will be used by the Account. | DRAFT or ACCOUNT |
ACCOUNT | An active Account possesses all the resources required to transfer out of LEAD status and begin IoT business operations.
Note: An Account must be in ACCOUNT status to begin adding SIM Cards to the Account. | SUSPENDED or TERMINATED |
SUSPENDED | An Account can be Suspended when the usage and rating and of all subscribers are to be temporarily stopped. Suspending the Account will suspend all active SIMs in the Account. Possible reasons of suspending an Account:
| ACCOUNT or TERMINATED |
TERMINATED | An Account is terminated when it is determined that there no longer exists a use for the Account. Only Accounts void of subscribers can be terminated. Note: Once terminated, there is no option to reopen the Account. | none |
