Scope

This document provides background information as well as a functional description of the FT-1014.007 Price Plans for Fixed Pools of SIMs standard feature. The described feature is supported from the release version 4.0 onwards.

Price Plans for Fixed Pools of SIMs is a standard feature and does not require a special license.

This feature is part of the Price Plan Types functionality with number FN-1014.

Goals

The aim of the Price Plans for Fixed Pools of SIMs feature is to provide a Price Plan solution where the fixed total volume of the Price Plan to be distributed among multiple SIM Cards.

Technical Prerequisites

This feature does not require any specific technical integrations for standard operation.

While no direct dependencies apply in typical scenarios, additional integrations or configurations may be necessary depending on the customer's infrastructure, business processes, or regulatory environment.

Functionality of the feature

Pool Price Plans are a special type of Price Plans, where volume is distributed among multiple SIM Cards instead of a single subscription. CMP supports two types of Pools: Flex and Static Pools.

Note: The Pooling option is only available for Zone Price Plans.

Fixed Pool Price Plans apply a shared charging model across a predefined group of SIM Cards, referred to as a Static Pool. The total volume of the included service is fixed for the Pool and does not scale with the number of SIMs assigned to it. Charging behavior and lifecycle management depend on the selected Rating Type. In case the entire Pool is consumed then the additional usage will be charged at the defined overusage rate unless a Usage Stack is configured for the Pool.

Prepaid Fixed Pool

In a Prepaid Fixed Pool Price Plan, the Pool is charged upfront for a defined allowance and duration. The Price Plan operates independently of Billing Cycles and does not allow overage. Once the total volume of the Pool is consumed or the duration expires, the Price Plan expires.

If Auto-Renew is enabled, the same Price Plan is automatically reactivated with the same conditions and charges. All usage is deducted from the shared pool, and no additional usage is allowed beyond the defined volume.

Postpaid Fixed Pool

In a Postpaid Fixed Pool Price Plan, the pool is charged at the end of each Billing Cycle. The included volume is shared among all SIM Cards in the pool, and usage beyond this volume is charged as overage, unless a Usage Stack is configured to handle additional consumption. The plan remains active without a defined end date and continues to apply charges based on actual usage during each cycle. The total volume of the pool remains fixed, regardless of changes in the number of SIMs assigned to it.

Overusage Charge Type

Overusage Charge Type is configurable for Postpaid Static Pools in Zone Price Plans, defining whether overage rated or additional MRC will be applied once the allowance of the Pool is exhausted.

• Overusage: Once the allowance of the Pool is exhausted rates defined in the Price Plan will be applied.

• Fixed MRC Stack: Once the allowance of the Pool is exhausted additional MRC will be charged. When this option is set for the Pool, any overusage rate in the Price Plan will be set to zero (as overusage is covered by charging multiple MRC).
