Feature overview
Goals
The aim of the Countries Management feature is to provide a list of Countries, which are needed to define the location of a Network.
Technical Prerequisites
This feature does not require any specific technical integrations for standard operation.
While no direct dependencies apply in typical scenarios, additional integrations or configurations may be necessary depending on the customer's infrastructure, business processes, or regulatory environment.
Functionality of the feature
CMP provides a list of Countries, which are needed to define the location of a Network. The Alpha-2 and Alpha-3 codes of the displayed Countries are defined by the ISO 3611-1 standard.
Note that this list of Countries will be shown anywhere in the CMP where there is a need to select a Country from a dropdown list.
Configuring the proper Country for a Network is important for the CMP to identify data that enable features such as location reporting and usage statistics.
Three Country Types are supported in the CMP.
COUNTRY | Networks, defined by MCC (Mobile Country Codes) and MNC (Mobile Network Codes) related to this Country Type are bound to a Country in a geographical sense. |
|---|---|
SATELLITE | Networks, defined by MCC (Mobile Country Codes) and MNC (Mobile Network Codes) related to this Country Type are bound to a Satellite Network. |
OTHER | Networks, defined by MCC (Mobile Country Codes) and MNC (Mobile Network Codes) related to this Country Type are bound to none of the above (e.g. UN Service Organisations). |
