Scope

This document provides background information as well as a functional description of the FT-1023.004 Zone based Rounding standard feature. The described feature is supported from the release version 5.0 onwards.

Note

Zone based Rounding is a standard feature and does not require a special license.

This feature is part of the Usage-based Charging functionality with number FN-1023.

Goals

The aim of the Zone based Rounding feature is to enable Rounding on Zone level in Zone Price Plans.

• Rounding for SMS MO/MT

Functionality of the feature

The Zone based Rounding feature allows to optionally configure rounding on Zone level.
For Data this means at the Geographical Zone + APN level, for Voice at the Geographical Zone level.

Zone Price Plan creation is extended to include the option for Zone based Rounding.
In consists of the Rounding Base value and the scope (per Session or per Billing Cycle).

In case Zone based Rounding is enabled, the Rounding has to be configured separately for each Zone (incl. Home Zone).
In case Zone based Rounding is disabled, the Rounding has to be configured at the Usage Type only.

It is important to mention that the Rounding can only either apply on the Usage Type or Zone level, but not at both at the same time.
