Feature overview

Goals

The aim of the Voice Rules feature is to provide new Automation Rules related to Voice usage in CMP that have similar properties and behavior as the existing rules for Data and SMS usage. This specifically applies to the setup of Rules, the applicability of Filters and Actions, and the related behavior.

Out of scope

None threshold related Rule Types and Rule setup via other functionalities than Portal GUI or API.

Preconditions & Assumptions

The set of existing Action Types are sufficient in the context of the new Voice related Automation Rules, so the number of Action Type does not need to be extended.

Note that the Service Blocked for Rule Period action is only available for Ro based Voice, however, the behavior of it will be applied unaffected to the new Voice related trigger types.

  • The Service Type blocked depends on the Service Type specified in the related Rule Trigger.

  • The period for how long the respective Service will be blocked is dependent on the Rule Period of the related Rule Trigger.

All existing Filter Types will be applied unchanged to the new Voice related Automation Rules. There is no change in the filter behavior for Rules that monitor (Voice) usage on single SIM cards nor Rules that monitor pooled (Voice) usage.

In case systems integrating to CMP require rounding (e.g. to minutes), it’s assumed that the related rounding is done on these systems.

The base unit for Voice related threshold triggers is seconds. All Voice related Usage Counters and threshold values are given in minutes and seconds (mm:ss).

For Voice Automation Rules only the Location Zone Model is used.

Offline CDRs might be significantly delayed (more than 24 hours), therefore Voice Duration Rules with a rule period of 24 hours are only supported in the Online case.

Online/Offline rule actions that disable service on Ro/Gy will not be available for Offline rules.
