Feature overview
Goals
The aim of the Unassign SIM feature is to provide capabilities to unassign one or many SIMs from an Account.
Out of scope
Un-assignment of Multi-IMSI and eSIM.
Functionality of the feature
The Unassign SIM tool allows SIM Cards to be removed from an Account. SIMs must be in Billing Status RETIRED and Resource Status ASSIGNED to be removed from the Account. The un-assignment of SIMs will not change the network settings in HLR, consequently, existing relationships between ICCID, IMSI, and MSISDN remain untouched.
The SIM Unassign process can be triggered by the Resource Manager GUI or via API. The processing will support unassigning individual SIMs and batch processing (CSV input file listing SIMs).
SIM Unassign File
The minimum details in a SIM Unassign file are ICCID and Account Number.
