Scope
This document provides background information as well as a functional description of the FT-2002.008 Tags standard feature. The described feature is supported from the release version 4.0 onwards.

Tags is a standard feature and does not require a special license.
This feature is part of the SIM Card Self-Administration functionality with number FN-2002.

Feature overview
Goals
The aim of the Tags feature is to allow Users to assign visual clues to objects in order to organize and locate objects.
Functionality of the feature
CMP allows Enterprise Accounts to create and assign Tags to objects in the Enterprise Portal. Tags are visual clues, which offer an additional way to organize and locate objects. Tags are user-created and can be assigned to one or many objects and objects may have one or many Tags assigned. Tags can be created for SIM Cards, Rules, and Devices.
Tags differ from Custom Attributes since they represent more generic descriptions, which can be applied to multiple Entity Types, while Custom Attribute values are defined for each SIM individually.
