Feature overview

Goals

The aim of the Spanish Language Package feature is to introduce the support of Spanish in the components of the CMP.

Out of scope

Translation of

  • report content,

  • data content (e.g. Price Plan names), and

  • user-generated content, such as automated emails, descriptions, notes, and news postings.

Functionality of the feature

CMP supports Spanish as a licensed optional feature. Consequently, if it is not licensed on the CMP instance, it should not be visible when changing languages.

Changing languages

Language preferences can only be selected on the login page and the system will remember the last selected language for the User. In order to change the GUI language, the User has to log out and log in again.

Note:

The only exception to this is the CAS User Management application, where the User can change the GUI language while logged in.

With Single Sign-On the selected language will be applied to all CMP modules.

Elements to be translated

In case any additional language is supported on the CMP instance the following elements will be translated.

GUI elements

  • menu entries

  • labels

  • combo boxes

    • search combo boxes default text (e.g. “choose Range Type”)

    • filter combo boxes default text (e.g. “Active Price Plan”)

    • selection combo boxes default text (e.g. “select Action Type”)

  • default values for text fields (e.g. “enter Description”)

  • tooltips (e.g. “Change Billing Status”)

  • table headers

  • enum values in case translations are available (e.g. for Billing Status), otherwise, fallback language is used

Exports from tables

  • header row of *.csv export files is translated (e.g. export from the SIM Grid)

Note that the following content will not be translated even if an additional language is supported.

  • Report content

  • Data content (e.g. Price Plan names)

  • User-generated content, such as automated emails, descriptions, notes, and news postings
