Feature overview
Goals
The aim of the Reseller - Customer Onboarding feature is to allow the creation of Reseller Customers in the CMP.
Functionality of the feature
Reseller Customer Creation
IoT Connectivity Resellers are companies that have permission to sell the CSP’s connectivity either natively or as part of an IoT solution. Resellers can create Customers and sell the products they purchase from the Service Provider to these Customers at their own prices.
The Reseller's and Customer's business relationships are completely separate from the CSP's and Reseller's business relationships.
Customers can be defined in the CMP Enterprise Portal by the Reseller by defining information such as Customer Name, Customer Number, Customer Address, Customer Admin User, and additional information about the Company (e.g. Phone Number, Homepage, Estimated Annual Revenue).
CMP supports the creation of both billable and non-billable (i.e., simple) Customers. Note that Billable Customers can only be created for Reseller Accounts.
Note that Companies can be Customers of multiple Resellers; in this case, the Customer must be created multiple times by each Reseller.
Customer Status
Customers can be transferred between different statuses throughout their lifecycle in the CMP.
Customer Users
Customer Users can be created using either the CAS User Management or the Enterprise Portal's user management capabilities. Only Account or Customer Users have the option to create Customer Users; CSP Users do not.
Customer Users can be assigned to one or many Customers. However, Customer Users can only be assigned to Customers belonging to the Account.
Users assigned to Customer context(s) always get the ENTERPRISE domain, which limits their access to the Enterprise Portal. Only the CMP objects (such as SIM Cards) of the Customer(s) to which they are assigned can be accessed by Customer Users.
SIM Card assignment to Customers
From the Enterprise Portal SIM Grid, SIM Cards of an Account can be assigned to Customers of the Account.
Only Account Users have the option to assign SIM Cards to Customers.
