Feature overview
Goals
The aim of the Rating Groups Management feature is to allow the creation of Rating Groups, that enable charging based on the source IP Address or RAT Type.
Functionality of the feature
Rating Groups allow the CMP to identify and separately charge the usage based on the source IP Address or Radio Access Type (RAT). Rating Groups are created at the core network and can then be established in the Resource Manager.
CMP supports the creation of APN Dedicated and Global (i.e., APN independent) Rating Groups.
Service Providers can assign APN Dedicated Rating Groups to APNs and then work with the Enterprise Customers to connect the APN with a Rating Group assigned to a Price Plan.
Global Rating Groups can be just assigned to a Price Plan without involving any APN.
CMP currently has two Rating Groups for RAT Types:
RAT Type | Name | Descriptor |
---|---|---|
NB IoT | EUTRAN-NB-IoT (8) | 60000 |
LTE-M | LTE-M (9) | 60001 |
