Benefits
Price Plan restrictions enable the separation of different business models on the same Account.
For example, if an Account is being served for local (home country) and international business, such restrictions allow separating pricing models and ensures, that SIM Cards which are dedicated to local business can never get international pricing assigned and vice versa.
The feature also related to Extra Charges based on Offer Types, which enable additional recurring or one-time charges, dedicated for such business.
Feature overview
Goals
The aim of the Price Plan Restrictions feature is to enforce compatibility and proper allocation of Price Plans to SIM Cards based on Offer Types.
Out of scope
This feature is dedicated to Postpaid Base Price Plans only, and is not supported for Prepaid or Supplemental Price Plans.
Functionality of the feature
The Price Plan Restrictions feature enforces restrictions on Price Plans based on Offer Types to ensure compatibility and proper allocation. Specific Price Plans can be restricted to specific SIM Cards, and products from different Offer Types cannot be mixed. This feature ensures that the system maintains consistency and prevents mismatches between SIM Cards and Price Plans, enhancing the overall management and allocation process.
Users can select an active Offer Type when creating or modifying a Postpaid Price Plan or uploading a SIM file. An Offer Type can be specified for SIM, eSIM, Multi-IMSI, and eSIM Multi-IMSI allocations.
Note
The availability of the eSIM Multi-IMSI and Multi-IMSI upload types depends on the Multi-IMSI (FT-1020.001) feature.
During the Purchase Order process, the initial Price Plan from the Purchase Order base specifies the allowed Offer Type of assigned SIMs.
If the Price Plan has no Offer Type configured, any SIMs of the Purchase Order can be allocated.
If the Price Plan has a specific Offer Type configured, all allocated SIMs of the Purchase Order have to have the same Offer Type associated.
In case a SIM doesn’t match with the Offer Type, the Validation Status reports an error.
In case a SIM Card has an Offer Type specified, its Price Plan can only be changed to Price Plans that
have no Offer Type configured, or
have the same Offer Type configured as the SIM.
