Feature overview
Goals
The aim of the Charges Per SIM Billing Status Billing Status feature is to control custom MRCs (Monthly Recurring Charges) outside of the Billing Status “In Billing” and allows the charging of custom MRC during Billing Status “Suspended”.
In case a SIM Card is retired within the defined Commitment period, a penalty charge can be applied.
Out of scope
Introducing an MRC during the Billing Status “Retired”
Functionality of the feature
MRC Charges per SIM Billing Status
As several Business Models include charging for SIMs even in situations when they cannot be fully (or not at all) used, e.g. if they are suspended, CMP has the capability to charge an MRC in case the SIM is not in the Billing Status “In Billing”, but also in other Billing Statuses, e.g. in “Suspended”.
With a customized charge behavior, CMP enables to charge the full "In Billing" MRC even if the SIM Card was suspended throughout the month, as well as assign a reduced price that will be utilized during Billing Status "Suspended."
MRC for Suspended SIMs
MRC for Suspended is a premium feature and requires a special license. Ensure that you have agreed with Mavoco about the usage of this feature before taking it into use.
CMP provides the capability to charge an MRC in case the SIM is not in the Billing Status “In Billing” but “Suspended”.
CMP allows to define a custom, non-zero, Monthly Recurring Charge (MRC) for SIM Cards in Billing Status “Suspended” both in Zone and Network Price Plans.
Note that the MRC for Suspended SIMs is only available in Postpaid Price Plans.
Penalty Charge for SIM Retirement before Commitment
CMP Price Plans include SIM commitment, the minimum duration (in months) in which a SIM on the Price Plan must be active prior to retirement without incurring a penalty charge. In case the retirement occurs within the Commitment period, a penalty charge is applied to the SIM.
“fixed” penalty charge: The penalty charge is fixed and independent of the remaining days between the retirement date and commitment end date.
Note, that the fixed penalty charge can also be configured to be enforced and charged even if the SIM got retired outside the commitment period.“per Day” penalty charge: The penalty charge is calculated based on the remaining days between the retirement date and commitment end date.
“per Billing Cycle” penalty charge: The penalty charge is calculated based on the remaining Billing Cycles within the Commitment period.
