Feature overview

Goals

The aim of the Add-On Service Catalog feature is to provide products that cover the additional services that fall outside of the scope of the Price Plan contracts.

Functionality of the feature

The Service Catalog allows Users to create and manage products, which are offered to Accounts on top of the connectivity fees defined in the Price Plans and are referred to as Add-Ons.

There are two types of Add-Ons:

  • Account Level Add-Ons

    • Service and price apply to the entire Account

    • Billed independently of SIMs

    • For example VPN fee, private APN fee, etc.

  • SIM Level Add-Ons

    • Service and Price apply as an additional charge for SIMs in the Account

    • The invoice charge reflects the cost of the SIM Add-On multiplied by the number of SIMs it is assigned to

    • Besides a one-time and recurring fee, the charge for a SIM Level Add-On can be a percentage of the MRC associated with the SIM via its assigned Price Plan

    • For example security package, optional support service, etc.

The Add-On Service Catalog is set up as a tree structure where Add-On products can be created under different branches of categories. All services under a tree item are identified by Product and Service Codes, which are also passed on to the underlying individual services.

Example

SoftVerChrgRC SOFT

3PrSerChrgRC SVCS

SecuConsulRC SVCS

Once created and activated, Service Providers can assign Add-Ons to Accounts and apply them as Add-On subscriptions.

To assign an Add-On to an Account the desired Add-On product has to be selected from the Service Catalog. At assignment the name and price of the product will be automatically filled with the catalog name and price as a suggestion, however, both can be customized and overwritten if needed.
