Feature overview
Goals
The aim of the Account Contract feature is to allow the creation of a framework of settings that have commercial impacts on the Account.
Functionality of the feature
A Contract regulates the terms and conditions that apply between the operator and the customer; it serves as a framework for settings that have a commercial impact on the Account. Since each Contract is linked to an Account, if a customer has multiple Accounts, each Account will have its own Contract. CMP allows to copy an Account and Contract to be used as a template for subsequent Accounts.
If the terms and conditions of the Contract change, a new version of the Contract must be created.
After the Contract has been created the usable network resources and products are assigned to the Contract divided into Network Entitlements and Product Entitlements.
Contract terms and conditions for Setup Fees, Monthly Rate Plans for Connectivity, and Monthly Fees for Optional Services are called Product Entitlements. Product Entitlements are
Price Plans for Connectivity,
Account Level Add-Ons, and
SIM Level Add-Ons.
Contract terms and conditions for Network and Service Settings are called Network Entitlements. Network Entitlements are
APN,
Service Profiles,
Roaming Profiles.
Most customers are assigned standard network resources (i.e., APNs, Roaming Profiles, and Service Profiles) that have already been created. Private APNs must be defined in accordance with the requirements of the customer. Customer requirements can determine the demand for new Price Plans. If a customer has specific requirements, they may request new prices, which results in the creation of new Price Plans. Alternatively, standard (i.e., shared) Price Plans can be provided to the customer. Other contractual terms, such as commitments, are typically negotiated, so using Shared Price Plans is only possible to a limited extent.
